WAVI is open to any victim of domestic violence or sexual assault, regardless of age, race, gender, or economic status.

All WAVI 's programs and services--emergency safe shelter, comprehensive case management, legal and medical advocacy, emotional support, safety planning, and more--are offered free of charge.

Thousands of victims are served each year, right here in our community. 1 in 4 women will be a victim of domestic violence in her lifetime in the United States; in Rapid City, that amounts to nearly 17,000 women.

Last year, we served 2,187 individuals. 583 women and children stayed in shelter--by Oct 2012, we were already up 5% in shelter stays.
At the close of each year, WAVI raises vital funds to help our clients and the community through our annual appeal. You make all the difference--your caring support is an integral part of what makes WAVI possible. This holiday card highlights the work we do every day, and lets you know the most important ways you can support the mission of WAVI: To create a community free of domestic abuse and sexual assualt through advocacy, education, and support services.

Every gift is utilized to further our vision of empowerment and safety to women, men, and children struggling to break free of the cycle of violence. Planned Giving:
Charitable Bequests for General and Endowment Support
A simple way to leave a planned gift to Working Against Violence, Inc (WAVI) is to make a bequest in your will or living trust. With a charitable bequest to WAVI, you can provide WAVI with important support of its general operations or long-term support for its general operations through our Endowment Funds. You can make a bequest of cash, securities, real property, or personal property. You may also contribute a percentage of your estate or the entire residue of your estate. Your estate will receive a charitable estate tax deduction for the full value of the donation, so your estate will not pay estate tax on these assets.
General Purpose Bequests are bequest that WAVI may use for its general operating purposes.
General Purpose Endowment Bequests are endowed bequests, the annual distribution s form which WAVI may use for its general operating purposes.
Donations of Stock:
You can also make a gift of stock shares to Working Against Violence, Inc (WAVI). Publicly traded securities, stocks, bonds and mutual funds may be donated to WAVI at their present fair market value, including any "paper profit" in the stock. Tax advantages make this an appealing option, especially for larger gifts.
Life Insurance:
Working Against Violence, Inc (WAVI) may be named as the principal beneficiary of an insurance policy.
